Iftar At Ours

IKEA 'Iftar at Ours'
The timing of Ramadan this year, with sunset falling over rush hour, means many Muslims are breaking their fast while travelling home from work.
And so, IKEA designed a solution in consultation with AMALIAH and interior designer Noor Aliyah Ali, 'Iftar At Ours' - A Home Away From Home - a pop-up house in London's Southbank and Manchester's Exchange Square, where guests were invited to break fasts’ and enjoy an evening of great food, great company, and the cosy feeling of their auntie's living room.
Kemi Anthony, IKEA, commented "At IKEA, we want to create spaces that bring people together, offer comfort and celebrate community. Design plays a central role in shaping atmosphere, and with so many Muslims breaking their fast while commuting, we wanted to use our design expertise to create a home away from home. We're proud to have created a pop-up house, with the help of our brilliant partners, which offers a welcoming environment and meaningful and authentic experience where guests can share Iftar, relax and feel at home."
